1. Bovada – Request Wagers & Kentucky Derby Betting Odds

Bovada Kentucky Derby

At Bovada, there are futures odds for the Kentucky Oaks and Derby – the two biggest races of the meet. But bettors should be aware of the risks attached to this form of wagering before putting down large sums.

Their racebook also has all daily horse racing action in the US covered with selected overseas events too. As available elsewhere, this covers both thoroughbred and harness races.

Bovada has really embraced cryptocurrencies with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and USD Coin all available as payment methods.

Credit and debit cards like American Express, MasterCard, and Visa are also there for bettors. When it comes to customer support, Bovada has live help on hand plus a standard help section.

There is also a number to call for inquiries. Their pledge to offer 24/7 customer support means the service is better than some competitors.

Choice of Kentucky Derby Bets

As with all offshore betting sites offering a futures market on the Kentucky Derby, you can wager ahead of time on an outright win.

The pari-mutuel betting is available later but Bovada also has daily horse racing wagers of this type down. Look out for Exotics including the Superfecta on the day they run for the roses in Louisville.

Other markets include top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5 and top 8 finishes, and match-ups between two named horses are also available.

Bonuses & Promos

A 50% match deposit welcome bonus at Kentucky Derby racebooks will surely interest most US bettors. You’ll need to enter a unique Bovada promo code to claim it. There are also occasional horse racing rebates on selected qualifying tracks given automatically.

What we like:

  • Futures betting on Kentucky Derby
  • Horse racing welcome promo
  • Horse racing rebate offer
  • 24/7 customer support available
  • Cryptocurrency friendly site

What we don’t:

  • Futures betting early, not pari-mutuel

2. BetOnline – Read a Churchill Downs Track Profile

BetOnline is one of the leading offshore Kentucky Derby betting sites around today

With futures betting on key trials en route to The Run for the Roses like the Florida Derby, plus the Kentucky Oaks for fillies, BetOnline has excellent fixed odds options.

Besides that, the daily horse racing betting coverage on BetOnline in the racebook is good. The pari-mutuel markets cover the USA in-depth and all major countries for both thoroughbred and harness racing.

When it comes to funding your Kentucky Derby horse betting, BetOnline  allows deposits from a range of traditional payment methods and cryptocurrencies. These include Visa, MasterCard, Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum.

In terms of customer support, BetOnline has a detailed FAQs section with its help center, email, and live chat function.

Everygame also has daily racing down with pari-mutuel odds available on all the main US tracks including harness races. There is also international action from countries where the sport of kings is popular.

Credit cards, cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, & Litecoin, and wire transfers allow you to fund your gambling. Bigger ranges of payment methods are available with other providers.

An FAQs section is the main form of customer support, meanwhile, with questions and answers on various topics. Live Chat is also available around the clock.

Choice of Kentucky Derby Bets

Until the final field is known, it’s just fixed odds win only Kentucky Derby betting available at Everygame. That is the same anywhere else.

Once that information comes out, though, the pari-mutuel wagers like Place, Show, Trifectas, and Exactas will be available.

Bonuses & Promos

Players can choose from a range of bonuses for crypto and card deposit deals, each with its own Everygame promo code used to unlock.

You’ll also find tailored promos from Everygame featuring recognized Kentucky Derby trials . For example, if your horse finishes second in the select races, then you can get a rebate.

Next up is MyBookie, who also offer fixed odds futures betting on the Kentucky Derby and its prep races. Supporting these are a wide range of pari-mutuel daily horse racing wagers available on all US tracks and key meets from around the world.

This again applies to top international thoroughbred and harness races from countries in the Far and the Middle East, South Africa, and across the pond in Europe.

Payment methods for deposits on MyBookie include credit and debit cards like MasterCard and Visa, prepaid cards, and a number of cryptocurrencies.

Joining Bitcoin are Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple. When you need help or questions answering, the help center contains all the essential customer support info too. MyBookie doesn’t have a live chat function, though.

Choice of Kentucky Derby Bets

In advance of the big one at Churchill Downs, it’s win-only fixed-odds futures betting available. Bettors aren’t guaranteed a run for their money.

When the Kentucky Derby draws near, however, pari-mutuel wagers will be accepted by MyBookie. These contain the standard Win, Place, and Show bets, plus the many exotic wagers.

Bonuses & Promos

There are plenty of bonuses on offer to new and existing customers each with their own MyBookie promo code you need to get them. Rollover requirements come with each.

For example, the 50% initial deposit up to $1,000 sign-up bonus for sports has a 10x playthrough attached. The casino deals have bigger rollover requirements.

Kentucky Derby betting fans should know about the 8% horse racing rebate deal on losing wagers at selected tracks and a 25% reload bonus up to $500 with a 5x playthrough needed.

What we like:

  • Good reload bonus for existing customers
  • Futures betting on the Derby and trials
  • Horse racing rebates on losing wagers

Pari-mutuel markets on daily horse racing action in the USA and beyond are also at your fingertips here. This is the typical mix of thoroughbred and harness races from around the world.

The FAQs and help center at BetNow are there for when you have questions or need guidance. Get in touch using a contact form, live chat, or phoning the BetNow  helpline. This is good customer support.

Payment methods at BetNow cover the standard options. Besides MasterCard and Visa debit and credits, Cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin are available.

Choice of Kentucky Derby Bets

As with its competitors, the Kentucky Derby 2023 betting on futures odds is win only. On the big day at Churchill Downs, however, a Superfecta and other exotic wagers will be available.

Pari-mutuel betting pools open closer to the time of the race. That means popular bets like Place, Show, and Exacta aren’t available ahead of time like the fixed odds market.

Bonuses & Promos

A Kentucky Derby betting promo sure to interest horse racing fans is BetNow’s racebook promo code. There is also an occasional rebate on exotic wagers for all Churchill Downs races including the Kentucky Derby.

Popular Types of Kentucky Derby Betting Markets

When betting with sportsbooks, they usually offer two different types of Kentucky Derby betting markets to bettors. Firstly, there are what they call Straight or Standard Wagers, and then there are also Exotic bets that are more complex.

Straight or Standard Wagers

A straight or standard wager is the simpler of the two types of bets. There are three different options for bettors at Kentucky Derby racebooks: Win, Place, and Show.

Win Bet

As simple as it gets with Kentucky Derby betting. A win wager is for the horse to finish first in the race.

Example: Medina Spirit to win the Kentucky Derby @ +1110

Place Bet

A place bet, meanwhile, is a wager on the horse to finish first or second in the race. It doesn’t matter where they finish, so long as it’s in the first two.

Example: Mandaloun to place in the Kentucky Derby @ +2200

Show Bet

With show bets, the wager is for the horse to “make the show”. That is a US racing term for finishing in the first three. It doesn’t matter whether the horse is first, second or third.

Example: Hot Rod Charlie to show in the Kentucky Derby @ +420

Double Bet

In celebration of the Kentucky Derby, a special double is often available on the winner of that and the winner of the Kentucky Oaks as one bet. Both named horses must win the races for the bet to payout.

Example: Malathaat to win the Kentucky Oaks & Mandaloun to win the Kentucky Derby @ +6625

Exotic Wagers

With exotics, things are more complicated. These wagers involve backing two or more horses in the same race. There may or may not be a specified finishing order. Exotic bets aren’t expressed with American odds but in the pari-mutuel dividend paid out.

Exacta Bet

The Exacta is where you back two horses to finish first and second in a specific order. If those picks don’t fill those spots as predicted, then the bet loses.

Example: Mandaloun to win the Kentucky Derby and Hot Rod Charlie to finish second in a $2 Exacta @ $503.60

Quinella Bet

A Quinella, meanwhile, is a bet for two horses to finish first and second in any order. It doesn’t matter which way round. The unit stake on Quinella bets doubles as it covers two permutations.

Example: Mandaloun and Hot Rod Charliein a $2 Kentucky Derby Quinella @ $503.60

Trifecta Bet

With the Trifecta, you’re looking for the first three horses home. A straight Trifecta is in a specific order, but you can also Box and Wheel this exotic wager so your bet covers more bases.

Example: Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie, and Essential Quality in a $0.50 Kentucky Derby betting Trifecta @ $848.45.

Superfecta Bet

A Superfecta is about finding the first, second, third, and fourth in the race. This level of exotic wager is extremely difficult to pull off with even pro handicappers having a hard time.

Example: Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie, Essential Quality, and O Besos in a $1 Kentucky Derby Superfecta @ $9,456.40.

Super Hi-Five Bet

And finally, the Super Hi-Five is the ultimate task for bettors. If you can bet on the first five horses in the right order, then you’ll hit the jackpot. This exotic wager is almost never pulled off.

Example: Mandaloun, Hot Rod Charlie, Essential Quality, O Besos, and Midnight Bourbon in a $1 Kentucky Derby Super Hi-Five @ $296,769.60.

Claim Kentucky Derby Betting Promo & Bonus Offers

All the top places to bet the Kentucky Derby have bonus deals, promos, and offers relating to the big race. Check out some of the most popular you’ll find out there:

Sign-Up Offer

All sportsbooks and Kentucky Derby betting sites reward you with something for joining them. Ideally, this is a racebook-specific sign-up bonus, but if not, there should at least be a sportsbook promo. These are often matched first deposits up to a certain amount and percentage.

There will be rollover requirements attached to these as well. You must play through the value of the deposit and bonus awarded X amount of times so that the funds can be withdrawn.

Free Bets

Also called Free Play, horse racing free bets give you the chance to wager without risking your cash balance. Pick a winner and you can be sure it’s pure profit.

The only downside with free bets is the stake isn’t returned with the winnings. So we recommend that you keep a lookout for free play opportunities on our recommended sites.

Horse Racing Rebates

Rebates are another common offer type with deals depending on the racetrack in question and the type of wager placed. As a general rule, there’s a higher percentage refund on losing exotic bets than straight ones.

Churchill Downs, is the home of the Kentucky Derby. It’s a racetrack where pari-mutuel bets qualify for rebates. However, you may have to play through the value of the awarded refund before it’s part of your cash balance.
